Self & New Build Advice & Project Management
Having managed numerous new-build residential schemes throughout the UK, our experienced Quantity Surveyors are able to act on your behalf where required; protecting your interests by ensuring that your building project remains on schedule, on specification and on budget.
Extensions & Alterations.
Generally more complicated and often more expensive to construct than equivalent new-build projects; extensions and alterations must take into account the suitability of the existing structure, a consideration that requires careful planning and project management.
Appointment & Management of Builders & Tradesmen.
Even for those who have gone through the construction process before, handing your dream project over to the builder can be a daunting prospect.
We can help by preparing appropriate and accurate documentation upon which quotes are obtained. shortlisting, researching and interviewing potential builders, evaluating quotations against tender documentation and ensuring that references and professional certifications are in good order.
Should you require it, we are also able to draw up suitable contractual agreements to ensure that there is an appropriate and accurate legally binding record of the work to be done, the timescale in which it is to be completed, the specification requirements and the amount to be paid.
Monitoring Costs & Managing Change
Staged payments are a normal and important aspect of any construction project. As part of our Project Management Service we can ensure that any interim payments are correct, fair and accurately reflect the value of the work completed including any additional costs created by changing the scope of the work.
Final Inspection, Defects & Snagging Lists.
‘Defects’ in construction projects are not uncommon. Whilst these should be kept to a minimum by choosing the right builder and by carefully monitoring the works during construction, even minor problems can cause a large amount of frustration.
We can help by carrying out an initial inspection upon completion and by dealing with the builder in order to get any issues successfully rectified.
Agreeing the Final Account
Finalising the account and making the final payment should signify the completion of a successful project for everyone concerned. We will ensure that all works have been completed and correctly valued and that the specific quality standards have been adhered to.
